Sometimes the challenge of climate change feels so big it leaves me feeling disheartened. I do my part by composting and recycling to the point where I throw away little garbage, and that certainly feels good, but I often wonder how I can help with my pocketbook. In other words, how can I make a difference as a consumer? I’ve decided to commit to buying more products that are Regenerative Organic Certified. (Learn more about what this means at Regenerative Organic Alliance.)
Having been a fan of Lundberg Family Farms products for years I decided to join their Rice Nerds Club because their products are high quality and delicious but also because they are committed to utilizing regenerative organic practices. You don’t have to join the club in order to shop via their online store, but I chose to do so because I think it will save me money, I’m a sucker for free shipping and gifts, and most importantly I want to show my support for their farming practices which include attention to animal welfare and treating employees and partner farmers fairly.
If you want to learn more about Lundberg Family Farms, I encourage you to listen to the interview with fourth generation farmer Greta Lundberg and Kerry Diamond on Cherry Bombe Radio and you can follow them on Instagram.
